Lawrence Lonstein

June 21, 1944 - May 18, 2025

Lawrence (Larry) Lonstein passed away on May 18, 2025, at the age of 80, in Portland, ME. Born on June 21, 1944, Larry dedicated his life to his family and had a passion for cycling and the financial markets.

Larry graduated from Deering High School and from the University of Maine – Orono. He spent 20+ years working for the United States Postal Service.

Larry was a member of the Etz Chaim congregation in Portland, ME.

In his younger years, Larry enjoyed weight training and maintained a fitness regimen all his life. His love for bicycling was unmatched; he enjoyed biking in various states, especially Nevada, Florida, and Maine. He also had a keen interest in the stock market and option trading, dedicating much time to following market trends and managing his investments.

Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Judith Cunningham, stepson Scott Cunningham, his wife Patrice and stepson Kurt Cunningham, son-in-law Patrick Dion, and grandchildren Shea Cunningham and Blaine Dion. He was a cherished step-dad and grandfather who will be deeply missed by his immediate family and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Carl Lonstein and his step daughter Susan Dion.

Larry’s legacy of love, dedication, and adventure will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
