July 29, 1932 - October 4, 2026

Priscilla Ruth Dubb Richman, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday morning, October 4th, 2026 at Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.

Priscilla was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 29 th , 1932, a surprise baby to older parents, Gertrude (nee Kleinfield) and Jacob Dubb of Mattapan, Miami, Florida, and Sharon, Massachusetts. Priscilla spent her early childhood during the Depression Era learning to can and pick blueberries to make blueberry pies in her mother’s beloved kitchen, and taught her embroidery, she was also raised by two adult sisters, Ann Dubb Casson (deceased), and Slyvia Dubb Isenberg (deceased), acting as a flower girl at their respective weddings, babysitting for their young boys, spending time at Lake Massapoag swimming, being taken to her older sister’s clothing store, Ann’s Apparel, Hyde Park, MA, to try on fashionable clothes and high heels, attend fashion shows in NYC, and explore around her father’s woolen and clothing factories, Brockton, Massachusetts, where he made clothing for women and girls he designed. She was not given many toys in retrospect to the disparate destitute era she was raised. She had one special doll but never got the roller skates she desired in respect to WWII and the need for metal to build ships, airplanes, and manufacture guns. She always loved her few story books.

She graduated with highest honors for her studies at Thayer Academy, Braintree, MA and graduated summa cum laude at Boston University with a MS. Degree in Elementary Education, Boston, MA. She was awarded to student teach and eventually teach in Brookline, MA. Priscilla only wanted to teach young children and get married. She wanted to give her life to raise, teach, and guide her future children. Priscilla married her high school sweetheart in 1954, after college in an exquisite wedding in Brooklyn, MA (her father made all her honeymoon bridal trousseau), to Norman I. Richman, Hull, MA. The couple celebrated 57 years of marriage. She returned to Sharon, Massachusetts to build their dream house and fill it with antiques and make flower gardens, a replica of the Paul Revere House on the shores of Lake Massapoag where Revere mined copper for cannon balls in the Revolutionary War. She taught second grade in the square in a one room school house until her daughters were born.

Priscilla is survived by her two daughters and their families, Penny-Beth Richman Faulkner, husband Scott Alan Biller, Gorham, ME, and Pamela Joy Richman Shaughnessy, husband Richard Lee Shaughnessy, Scarborough, ME. She leaves three grandchildren, Krysten Erica-Nicole Faulkner, Gorham, ME., Conner J. Shaughnessy, Tampa Bay, Fl., and Joshua A. Shaughnessy, Scarborough, ME. Others who survive her are various cousins, relatives, and friends throughout Maine, Massachusetts and the U.S.

Priscilla leaves a legacy of love, fanciful entertaining at her abundant homes on the ocean she shared with her husband, family, and friends, her immeasurable love for fashion and decorating, knitting, cooking and baking, her love of God and her Jewish faith, her infinite desire to teach children to read, along with her own children, and grandchildren, love of the ocean, boating, gardening and nature, she was an active member of the Cape Elizabeth Garden Club, Hadassah, and held boundless love for her family. Priscilla shared her life with her husband travelling the world, and in a variety of homes they built and bought together on the ocean from Clearwater, Florida to Cape Elizabeth, Maine where she lived in her later years.
